Whether
it be viewing game from the decks along the
shoreline of the Matusdona National Park,
fishing amongst the deep dark waters around
fossilized trees, a bit of both or just
sunbathing on the top deck, you will
certainly fall in love with this spectacular
place and it's people.
Houseboat
safaris are a fantastic way to
experience the wilderness and wildlife of
Africa. If you book a 'Safari Guide' with
your houseboat you will be able to tie-up on
the shores and venture on foot into the bush
of the Matusadona National Park.
Houseboats
also make the most fantastic photographic
platforms that allow for some stunning
scenery shots and views of the wildlife you
would not be able to get on land.
"Cruising
this Lake and discovering it's incredible
history,
is an experience not forgotten in a
hurry!"

Choosing
a suitable Houseboat
can be quite a
mission in some cases, we have tried here to
make this as easy as possible for you so
that you can get the best boat that suits
YOUR needs. You need to consider a number of
things when making a choice as there are
over 200 boats on offer in the Lake Kariba
Area alone! We concentrate on Houseboats
that WE know and whom we are confident
supply excellent value for money and are
reliable. They are NOT the cheapest but they
are hassle free.
We
will be adding new boats as and when we have
gathered sufficient details so if what we
have is not suitable then ask us as there
could be `others' waiting for the web page
and as I live here in Kariba in the hot
Zambezi Valley, I have been (wrongly)
accused of working very slowly at times!
Some
questions you need to ask yourself are:
What
Standard of boat do I Want?
How many people will be on the boat and how
many cabins are there?
What type and quality of ablutions does the
boat have?
What crew has the boat?
What quality and quantity are the tender
boats?
How Old is the boat?
Does it have a swimming cage or plunge pool?
Eastern
Basin Map of the lake
This is about 1/5 of the total Lake Size

Most
Houseboats do NOT travel further than
Starvation Island.
