Mana Pools  -  4 days 3 nights Departs  - Tuesday   
Available  -  Mid April  to  Mid May Clients depart Kariba at approximately 08h30.


1. Clients will either fly into Mana Pools or will transfer into Mana Pools with Canoeing Safaris.

2. They will meet their Guide and be transported to the put in point at the Nyakasanga river mouth on the Zambezi River. (This is the Western Border of the Mana Pools National Park.)

3. Here the clients will be fed a packed lunch and refreshments and given an in-depth Safety Talk by their Guide.

4. The trip then embarks on the first leg of the safari down the Zambezi to Vundu Camp approximately 3 hours paddling down stream. (All clients’ luggage is transported by vehicle around to the camp.)

5. At Vundu Camp the group is met by the Camp staff and settled in for the evening.

6. The following morning the group is woken at first light for a game drive, this lasts for two hours before a Full English Breakfast is served back at the camp.

7. After breakfast the clients climb aboard their canoes and paddle down to a shady lunch spot where again a packed lunch is served.

8. There is time now for a short break when clients may siesta, study some of the mammals or birds seen on the trip or dabble a line for the elusive Tiger Fish.

9. At around 3pm the party canoes down to their next night spot below Nyamepi; this site is called Chessa Camp.

10. Here, once again the group meets the camp staff and their luggage and enjoys a night in the heart of the Mana Pools National Park.

11. The next day the clients are woken early again and after an early breakfast get on the River to paddle the Mana shoreline down to Acacia Camp just downstream from the Sapi River confluence and the Western Boundary of the Park.

12. This is the last night of the Safari and the group sits around a campfire sharing the stories of the trip.

13. The next day the clients are woken slightly later than usual and transported after a hearty breakfast to their point of exit from the Park.


Important Information

Meals: 


Breakfasts: Cereals and Fruit; Eggs; Bacon; sausage and toast as well as tea coffee and Juice.
Lunch: Cold meats; salad; cheeses; rolls; pickles.
Dinner: Three-course dinner is served; soup; main meal and dessert.
Specific dietary requirements can be catered for provided reasonable notice is given prior to the safari. 

All drinks are included in the price however it must be noted that there is a limited supply and variety. Should clients want a specific drink served on the River this must be pre-arranged.



Tents: Two-man 3m by 3m walk-in tents are used. The tents have camp beds, mattresses, sleeping bags, liners and pillows. They are virtually mosquito proof (unless the door is left open). There is no electricity but there will be gas and paraffin lamps. 


Ablutions: A Communal Shower and Flush toilet.


Canoes: 18 foot Canadian style, fibreglass, each one has two life jackets and seat cushions. Carlisle paddles are used.


Guides: Our guides are all professionals trained by ourselves; they have all been on the River for a minimum of two years.


Safety: All guides are armed and carry long distance two-way radios. Each of our clients is covered by Medical Air Rescue Services.

All rates include MARS cover; Gvt. statutory levies; agents’ commissions. A minimum of two pax is required to confirm a booking and the camp can hold a maximum of 8 guests. Rates do not include National Parks fees of US$ 15 per person.
