DAY
1
You
will be collected from your hotel or lodge at about 5.30 - 6.30 am,
depending on the weather and the time of the year. Tea, coffee,
fruit and biscuits will be served in the stable gardens as the early
morning sun colors the spray of the Falls.
Alison will talk to each of you, to ensure you are given the
horse you prefer.
After
a brief orientation and safety talk we will move off with our
guides. As the stables adjoin Victoria Falls National Park, game
viewing often starts in the stable yard with last nights` elephant
tracks. The morning will be spent exploring this game area, which
includes the Zambezi River, the National Park and game corridor.
|

|
We
will meet the back-up vehicle for a picnic lunch, served on the
banks of the Zambezi, or at Batoka Gorge, while. In the afternoon we
will explore the magnificent Batoka Gorge and ride across ancient
teak-forested dunes, up the Masuie River. By late afternoon we will
reach the waterholes below Mungongo Lodge in time to watch zebra and
other species move down for their evening drink. After an
exhilarating gallop through the Panda Masuie Forest we will arrive
in camp.
The
evening may be spent relaxing by the fire reminiscing over the days
events or on a night drive, for the opportunity to see those
nocturnal animals rarely seen by day. This will be a long day’s
ride. Night spent at Mungongo Lodge.

DAY
2
We
will have a more leisurely ride on the second day - leaving Mungongo
Camp after breakfast. Although we will not be riding for so long -
there will be plenty of opportunities for long canters through teak
forests before descending on to the magnificent vleis and valleys
the estate vleis tracking zebra, giraffe and elephant. After lunch
and a rest in Camp, we will set out in the late afternoon to
continue our explorations of this varied game area returning to camp
for a night drive and dinner.

DAY
3
Today
we will set out early again for a last ride down the sweeping
escarpment of Munongo lodge, across its vleis towards the hills and
treak forested dunes of Zambezi National Park,
We
will arrive at the stables by late morning and transfer to

The
Terrain
– Varied – from the rolling Kalahari sand dunes and dramatic

Riverine forest along the Zambezi and the dramatic hills and ravines
of Batoka gorge, with a birds eye view of the rapids below Victoria
Falls. There are plenty of opportunities to canter

most of the year round. Wild Dog may be seen during the rains.
The
area immediately around the stables is very densely populated with a
variety of game, all species of which can be approached very
closely. Apart from the above species, animals generally seen on

waterbuck, bush buck, various small antelope and mammals, side
striped jackal, and Python. The varied habitat also supports a wide
variety of birds. Giraffe, zebra and Sable may be seen on longer
