SIMBA LODGE  - Hwange National park

Deep within the unspoilt Gwaai Valley, adjacent to Hwange national park, lies SIMBA LODGE. An exclusive lodge with only six chalets, the emphasis is on creating a superb complete bush experience.

In an environment unchange for centuries, guests can enjoy walking with a pro guide, game veiwing by vehicle either on the estate or in the nearby Hwange National Park, night game drives looking for the cat family, or just relaxing on their own private veranda watching the diverse birdlife.

The charming charlets, all built of stone under thatch, face a large vlei with waterholes, to which animals come down to drink. evening cocktails can be enjoyed around the waterhole, or on the nearby game veiwing  platform. There is a plunge pool and an excellent library of reference books.

A speciality of Simba Lodge is camping in Hwanga National park. After a huge b/fast at simba , guests take a slow drive into and through the park, stopping for a picnic lunch. A tented camp is set up by staff and a wonderful meal had around the camp fire under the stars. Lying safely in a tent listening to the lions roar in the distance completes the true bush adventure.

To help conserve this wonderful habitat, and to prevent vehicales becoming stuck in the deep Kalahari sand, vehicales are left at halfway hotel, on the main Bulawayo- vic falls road. from here guests are taken to Simba lodge, often seeing elephant and other wildlife along the way.
