Bordering the Zambezi River, Matetsi Game Lodges extends over 50
000 hectares in northwestern Zimbabwe, just 40 kilometers west of
Victoria Falls and en route to the Kazangula border post in
Botswana.
here are no fences to prevent animals moving between
Chobe National Park and Matetsi. Although estimates vary it is
thought that between 30 and 50 thousand elephants live in this
region.
With its 15 kilometers of private Zambezi River frontage,
Matetsi offers an unrivalled river experience.

Accommodation at
Matetsi safari camp consists of twelve air-conditioned twin bedded (all convertible to double
beds) tented rooms each with a private deck looking onto a
waterhole.
Each light and airy room has teak floors and furnishings and is
equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, mosquito net,
personal bar, safety deposit box, hairdryer and electrical
outlets. The en suite bathroom has twin wash hand basins, bath,
shower, separate w.c and a range of guest amenities.
Nestled under a canopy of teak trees on the edge of the open
grasslands of the Westwood Vlei. Safari Camp’s teak and canvas décor
falls comfortably into place alongside the ancient path of
elephant, buffalo and lion. The intimate guest areas consists of a
lounge and dining area with fireplace, drinks cabinet and TV for
viewing wild life videos.
Twice daily game drives in open Land Rovers, daily nature walks on
the Reserve, morning and afternoon river boat cruises, guided
canoe excursions along the Zambezi River and fishing. A
complimentary daily shuttle is available to Victoria Falls
allowing guests to enjoy various activities including flights over
the Falls, rafting, scenic touring of Victoria Falls and
surrounding areas (these activities are at an additional cost).
The shuttle leaves at 11:00 and returns at 14:30.

Access
to Matetsi safari camp is by scheduled flight to Victoria Falls Airport. Transfers from
Victoria Falls Airport, town and the border to Matetsi are
available at an additional charge. Driving time from Victoria
Falls Town and Kazangula border to Safari Camp is approximately 40
minutes and from the Airport to the camp approximately 50 minutes.
Self-drive guests are directed to a central meeting point, where
they are met by a representative from Matetsi Safari Camp who will
transfer them by Land Rover to the camp, which is six kilometers
away.
Power is 220v AC current is available 24 hours a day. Plug points are
square pin and adaptors are available on request.
Children are welcome. Regretfully, children 5 years and younger
cannot participate in the regular game drives. Child minders can
be booked at an additional cost. Children aged 6 to 11 years are
accommodated on game drives at the lodge Manager’s discretion.
An extra bed can be arranged for a child sharing its parents’
room. No more than one triple room in the camp at any one time.
Three adults sharing a room is not possible.
