Lorne, a leafy suburb of Harare, the capital city, gives you
spectacular views over the surrounding countryside, across to the
Domboshawa hills. Soak

We are ideally
situated for businessmen and tourists alike – the city and the
airport are only fifteen and
twenty five minutes away respectively.
At 1470m
(4823ft) Harare’s high dry plateau is always cool at night, and
cold during the winter months (June to August).
Harare is normally sunny by day throughout the year,
although there can be prolonged overcast spells during the rainy
season (November to March) accompanied by spectacular lightening
and thunder displays.

| Our Lodge is
limited to twenty two guests – each lodge is individually
decorated and personalised with a theme of railway sleep teak
furniture appearing throughout.
All rooms have en suite bathrooms, satellite television,
direct dial and telephone linked to a computerised billing system.
The Superior Lodges and Deluxe room are about double the
floor space of the Verandah lodges and have an additional seating
area.

Imba’s
extremely high standard of cuisine is currently supervised by
Siegfried Presslaber, the variable menus being described as
International cuisine. No
expense is spared in the preparation our of food which has been
acclaimed on numerous occasions by guests and journalists from all
over the world as amongst the best in Zimbabwe, if not in Southern
Africa! We offer an
al a carte menu from 7 pm and the restaurant is also open to
outside diners. Light
lunches are served on the main verandah or in the dinning room.
Imba boasts a
very charming and popular gazebo that is often used for special
private functions as well as conferences and seminars for up to 50
people. Rates are
provided upon request.

they really are in Zimbabwe – and at the same time, embrace them
into the warm and friendly “Imba” family fold. |
We are ideally
suited for business visitors – drivers and vehicles are at hand
to drop off and collect guests from the city centre with a
relaxing friendly atmosphere to welcome them back at the end of a
long day! For
tourists, a couple of days at the beginning and end of their
safari to “acclimartse” are best spent at Imba, relaxing by
the glorious 25m swimming pool, playing tennis, or a round of golf
at one of six excellent golf courses within 30 minutes drive of
the lodge. Drivers
are available for tours to the best craft markets, sculpture
gardens, superb silver crafts and railway sleeper furniture.
Horse riding is
available on a neighbouring farm where one can ride through 3000
unspoilt acres of spectacular Msasa woodlands.
The lodge also
boasts a well-equipped gym, with a newly installed sauna and a new
Jacuzzi beside the pool.
We are a member
of the Relais and Chateaux (the only one in Zimbabwe) which is
renowned for the 5 C’s – character, courtesy, calm, charm and
cuisine.

EXTERNAL
LODGES
Stone Lodge –
One of the Superior lodges, Stone is uniquely designed and
furnished in bright primary colours with the en suite bathroom
built as a separate thatched rondavel inside the actual lodge.
A private verandah, min-bar, tea and coffee-making
facilities, satellite television and the convenience of the direct
dial/automatic billing telephone system make this an exceptional
lodge for a short or long term stay.
The bathroom has shower and bath, the main room two queen
size beds, dressing table/desk and a spacious sitting area.

Pool Lodge
– Another of the Superior lodges.
Pool is a favourite amongst honeymooners as it is located
in a quiet corner of the garden, below the 25m pool.
Decorated uniquely in softer tones.
Pool lodge is built with a split-level design, the bathroom
on the upper level consisting of a bath, separate shower and
second loo. Again a
very private verandah, mini-bar, tea and coffee-making facilities,
direct-dial telephone, satellite television, two large queen size
beds and ample sitting area.
Hornbill
Lodge – A Verandah lodge with spectacular views across the
swimming pool towards Domboshawa hills, this lodge, also popular
with honeymooners, has a teak framed double bed and the en suite
bathroom has a shower only. Satellite
television, direct dial phone, tea and coffee-making facilities
and private verandah.
Guinea fowl
Lodge – This verandah lodge differs in that it has twin beds
and the bathroom has bath and shower. (If necessary, this lodge can be linked to a Standard Lodge
via an inter-leading door).
Orchard
Lodge – A cosy, secluded Verandah lodge set away from the
main gardens – uniquely built of stone – twin bedded with a
bath and shower ensuite. Satellite
television, direct dial phone, tea and coffee- making facilities
and a private verandah.
Shumba Lodge
– A double bedded Standard lodge, Shumba’s bathroom has
shower only. Satellite
television, direct dial phone, tea and coffee-making facilities.
Zebra Lodge –
A twin-bedded Standard lodge, Zebra’s bathroom has shower only.
An inter-leading door into Guinea fowl can be used in the
event of a family or friends wishing to have access to two rooms.

MAIN HOUSE
Domboshawa
– Another Superior room situated in the main house.
This room is upstairs and has its own balcony overlooking
the swimming pool. It
has a king-size bed, en suite bathroom with bath and shower,
satellite television, direct dial phone, tea and coffee-making
facilities.
Eagles Nest
– This is a newly converted double-bedded room situated at
the top of the main house – a brightly decorated and spacious
room with it’s own bathroom en suite (bath only).

| Leopard –
A new addition to Imba’s repertoire, this specious Deluxe room
at the top of the main house (second floor) boasts a 30”
thatched ceiling – a king size bed lying beneath a romantic
canopy done out in animal fabrics and old sepia prints.
Both stunning and romantic at the same time.
